Modular “green” building

As rapid climate change becomes a growing concern, there seems to be a more widespread acceptance of being more environmentally-friendly. We at Starrco modular office systems and portable offices have been part of the “green” movement for quite some time and we feel it’s time all businesses to join us. We are committed to minimizing the impact our operations have on the environment. It’s essential to explore and share the findings related to the environmental effect of modular building construction.

We find it essential to explore and share the findings related to not just the environmental effect of modular buildings construction, but the overall impact of the construction industry.  At this point, research into whether conventional construction or modular construction is more environmentally friendly is still in the preliminary stages.

As landfills all over the country begin to reach capacity, we will soon be presented with one colossal problem: where do we put the trash? If you ever visit a conventional construction site, you will see plenty of wasted material. Much of the unused material goes directly to the landfills because they don’t want to haul or store the leftover material.

Starrco is able to avoid these issues because we buy in bulk, which allows us to work on multiple projects simultaneously, thus significantly decreasing the chance of excess material. This is common practice by most modular manufacturers because when you buy in bulk, you have enough material to work on your next environmentally friendly portable office, saving you time and money. Almost no waste is shipped to these sites, therefore reducing the amount of waste that ends up in the landfill at the conclusion of construction.

At Starrco, we feel we our modular office systems are making a positive impact on the environment. As we move forward, we hope the rest of the portable office industry will join us in more socially responsible activities with modular green buildings.
