Some of these numbers were brought into sharp focus earlier in June at National Forklift Safety Day. During OSHA’s official comments about the day, acting assistant secretary Loren Sweatt, revealed there were 54 forklift-related fatalities in the US in 2017 along with 7,500 forklift-related accidents.
Sweatt’s comments were a stark reminder of just how dangerous modern manufacturing and warehouse facilities can be and how important it is to engineer safety into every product we deliver.
