Nobody has a clearer insight into what makes a great modular building than the people who install them. So, we asked four of our top installers exactly what they like about Starrco.
Starrco makes us look like magicians
“With a trained, experienced crew, the customer is always amazed how fast a Starrco building goes up, and it always surpasses their expectations,” said Greg Sevilla.
Greg has been installing Starrco for decades. While he is based in Minneapolis, his installation work has taken him all over the US and even as far as West Africa where he installed a Starrco building at the Ivory Coast’s American embassy.
“Everything is always there. Very rarely do I have to call for missing parts. That’s almost unheard of in the construction industry. It always comes undamaged and unblemished,” said Greg.
Touch up is not required
Jim Eaton, who does both conventional construction and modular installation, often steers customers to use Starrco because it is so fast and easy to install and causes so little mess and disruption.
“Starrco buildings are very solid and stable, and the finished product is clean and smooth. I never have to come back to touch anything up with paint,” said Jim.
Jim, who is based in the St. Louis area, travels just about anywhere with his crew to install Starrco structures. He has built equipment rooms where airplane parts are X-rayed, paint rooms for Toyota and office space for the FBI in Springfield.
Ed Schmidt has been installing Starrco modular buildings for more than 20 years, and during most of that time, he has specialized in cleanrooms which he has installed for drug compounding pharmacies, contact lens manufacturers and electronics companies.
Ed has a lot of good things to say about the Starrco product, but he is most impressed with the speed of install and the quality of the finish.
“We can put up a lot of walls in a day, and they are beautifully finished on both sides. Compare that to installing the same quantity of drywall. It would still need to be mudded, sanded and painted,” said Ed.
The other thing he loves about the product is its strength. “You can walk on the roof of these buildings,” said Ed.
Ken Seymore installs several modular building brands, but most of the others do not compare to Starrco in terms of quality.
“Sometimes there is a competitive price situation, but I try to advise the customer that if they use Starrco, the project will be smoother and they’ll have a better product,” said Ken.
With other brands, Ken has learned to allow extra installation time. For example, he knows other brands’ doors are likely to come out of alignment, so he takes the wall panels apart to add blocking behind the doors. A lot of other manufacturers also don’t cut the extrusions and that takes even more time.
“The materials arrive on time, we get engineer-stamped drawings, and if there is a problem, Starrco responds very quickly,” said Ken.
Ken works across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and has been installing Starrco modular buildings since 2003.
